Winter is coming! The coldest season of the year is also one of the most beautiful ones, and it’s just around the corner. Nature changes, holiday decorations start popping up everywhere, and our fashion style and beauty adjust accordingly.
While the spring and fall might get the reputation of the prettiest seasons of the year, the winter can also be stunning. And even though not everyone has the chance to spend the season in a winter wonderland, it is possible to edit photos to make it look like you are. How great is that? Come with me and I’ll teach you how.
Let’s start with some of the most important elements of the winter aesthetic. What comes to mind when you think of that particular time of the year?
Surely, snow is one of the winter season’s most appreciated “trademarks”, right? Pretty, magical and totally unique to this particular season.
Then, there’s winter activities. It depends on what your favorite hobbies are, but usually everything related to the holidays, trips to the cabin, skiing…
Anything cozy and warm is also directly related to the wintertime. Think cozy sweaters, fuzzy socks, scarfs, hats etc. Plus, let’s not forget delicious winter food and drinks, keeping us warm from the inside out!
The easiest way to instantly make your winter pic look aesthetic is to add a realistic snow effect to it. Lucky us, it’s one of the easiest edits ever to do.
With the BeautyPlus app, you can even try different types of snow, depending on what specific kind you want. The best news? It looks EXACTLY like real snow is falling. It’s really awesome.
Here, for example, I used the AR effect that adds cute snowflakes in one tap. Absolutely gorgeous!
With this second option, you can draw the snow yourself using the snow brush, adjusting the size that works best on your pic. You can even apply two different types of snowflakes to the edit, mixing the round normal one with the pretty snowflake shaped brush. A winter aesthetic filter gives the final touch.
When it comes to winter aesthetic filters, there are two totally different vibes we can create.
You might want to go for a cold tone filter that will make the image look more wintery. It’s great for outdoor photos where your goal is to emphasize the low temperatures.
Here’s how to easily manually adjust the temperature of the picture, if you want more control. Focus on decreasing the saturation, temperature and contrast. Secret final touch? Add a bit of white vignette to the borders!
If your goal is to highlight the coziness of the moment however, go the other way and try a warming filter. After all, it’s undeniable that feeling cozy and warm is one of the best things about the winter season, isn’t it? So enhancing that aspect of your photo can be a great idea as well.
Adapting our profile pictures to current seasons and events will always be super fun. And the winter time brings lots of interesting options when it comes to profile picture possibilities.
Feeling creative? Try upgrading your photo with little snow and a touch of fantasy with playful stickers. Here’s an idea using the Snow brush on the BeautyPlus app and an adorable butterfly sticker:
An easy and cute way to give your pfp a winter aesthetic makeover is to apply a simple AR filter. This one is my favorite on the BeautyPlus app:
If all you want is a touch of that magic that ONLY the wintertime brings, bokeh lights will do the work. They’re perfect for this time of the year!
Winter aesthetic makeup is another way you can express your excitement about the season through art. Here, we’re talking specifically about digital makeup, of course.
And creating a stylish winter queen look with a few taps with BeautyPlus is as easy and as fun as you would imagine! So check out these ideas.
Stickers can be used in so many ways while photo editing. To create a gorgeous makeup look, add some snow stickers to your face and adjust the sticker blending mode tapping on the three dots. Use the retouch tool to put on some classic winter makeup shades on your lips, eyes and cheeks.
While the warm seasons are all about light and breezy shades, darker makeup looks gorgeous on winter looks. You can experiment with different hues using the Makeup feature of the BeautyPlus app. It will completely transform your picture.
Winter aesthetic outfit of the day pics can also get a glow up with a proper edit. It often happens, for example, that we love the look we put together, but the setting around us could use a little tweak. In that case, my go-to edit choices are to apply a stunning sky with the Style tool using the BeautyPlus app. Works like literal magic.
If the pic is already perfect but there’s something missing to make it aesthetic, here’s an idea. Use the music player text feature with a song that translates the mood of the moment and complement your outfit. It will add a new dimension to your ootd pic.
And of course, a good old timestamp filter will always work to instantly add the aesthetic factor to any edit. For winter edits, they’re particularly cool to celebrate both your fantastic look and the fact that it is, once again, the most wonderful time of the year…!
See how easy it is to transform your photos into beautiful winter aesthetic edits? This is the sign you’ve been looking for to work on your wintertime editing skills and make the new month a December to remember!
